One thing I ran into with Fiddler that might be worth noting is that When Fiddler is used as an HTTP proxy, it can handle both http:// and https:// traffic.  However, in order to monitor the https:// traffic, it must be able to decrypt the traffic and it can only do this if it serves a fake SSL certificate (see http://www.fiddler2.com/Fiddler/help/httpsdecryption.asp).
