We're working on getting the next release (which is compatible with only 1.3, not 1.2.6) finalized asap, but jQuery UI 1.5.3 will only ever be compatible with jQuery 1.2.6. Sorry about the error message you hit on the bug tracker. Some of the reports like to complain if you're not logged in.
